Natural Bodies of Water

Thanks to movies like Jaws and Lake Placid, hanging at the beach or going fishing will now be riddled with nightmares - at least for a while after you have seen such movies. You will think twice before putting your foot into the lake or ocean. Such movies show mysterious water creatures actively seeking to attack human beings to attack, which is actually really unlikely.

Even if some water animals do attack humans, they will only consider doing that if the human is in their territory. No animals actively seek out humans; they're harder prey, after all. Most animals would like to prey on things that are easier to catch.

Cats and Dogs

After seeing Cujo, chances are that you'd like to maintain a safe distance from your pet dog - and dogs in general, at least for a while. It's probably the only movie where you will utter the words, "What's wrong with that dog?" Even kitties are oftentimes shown in an evil light when it comes to cinema.

Even the movie Dead Calm features a real madman of a dog. A dog that, instead of trying to save its owners, ends up helping the madman onboard. After watching films like these, it's understandable if you're feeling a little skeptical of kitty-cats and dogs. But, in reality, these creatures love their owners way too much to hurt them.

The Woods

Going camping is one of the best experiences of one's lifetime. To be in the wilderness like that, enjoying the bonfire and lights coming from thousands of stars twinkling in the sky; the sounds of birds chirping; the cold wind blowing through your hair. It's hands-down one of the best experiences.

But, if you've ever seen movies like The Blair Witch Project, The Wrong Turn, or The Evil Dead, then going camping in the woods may very well be one of your worst nightmares. Needless to say, the chances of you running into a witch or a zombie are very, very slim. You'd even be lucky if you got the chance to see a wild animal.

Flying

What's with movies that feature people dying in a plane crash? There are so many movies that show all things that can go wrong while taking a flight - so much so that many people actually have a fear of flying.

Movies like Final Destination, Snakes on a Plane, and many more are a lot less likely to happen. So, next time you're wondering whether or not you should use the bathroom on your flight out of fear that a snake will pop out of the toilet, just go ahead and use it. The chances of that happening are next to none. Chances of you wetting your pants, though, well... those are very, very high.

Ships & Boats

If you can go on a cruise or a ship without the fear of hitting an iceberg and sinking or getting stranded on an island somewhere, then there's a good chance you haven't watched these types of horror films.

From Titanic to Triangle to Ghost Ship and many more, the movies do a very good job of instilling fear into any and all people that think about venturing into the sea. The sea can be a very daunting and scary place indeed but that doesn't mean you need to worry about these things happening aboard that cruise you want to go on. So, go enjoy!
